Why Orto doesn't show owner information

Orto is a vehicle research tool. A report tells you about the car, identified by its VIN or plate, not about the people who have owned it. We do not show owner names, addresses, phone numbers, or other personal details.
Why we do this
The law. Information derived from motor vehicle records is protected by the federal Driver's Privacy Protection Act (DPPA) and similar state laws. Orto does not knowingly provide personal information about individuals except as permitted by applicable law, and you agree to use Orto only for purposes the DPPA permits
It is not what Orto is for. The data we license relates to vehicles rather than to identifiable individuals. A report is about a car's history, title, mileage, and condition, not about tracking a person.
Orto is not a background check
Orto is not a consumer reporting agency, and reports are not consumer reports under the federal Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA). Reports may not be used to decide eligibility for credit, insurance, employment, housing, or any other FCRA-regulated purpose. If you need to find or investigate a person, Orto is not the right tool.
What a report does include
The vehicle's title history and brands, salvage and total-loss records, odometer readings, reported liens and theft records, recalls, specifications, and market value. All of it is about the car.
